Police officer in dark uniform sits on a park bench with eyes closed, beside an autumn path and yellow trees.

What It Is

A quick physical reset to release tension stored in the upper body.

Why It Works

Relaxing the shoulders reduces sympathetic activation and improves breathing.

How to Do It

  • Lift your shoulders toward your ears.

  • Hold for 3 seconds.

  • Drop them on the exhale.

  • Repeat 3 times.

When to Use It

  1. after conflict

  2. during long shifts

  3. when you notice your posture tightening
